a tangy couple. tomatillos turn out to be one of the few vegetables we didn’t find a way to make them tasty. they have a slightly slimy sort of tomato texture and odd earthy flavor unlike peppers.

We’re going to have to discover the joys of eating beets!

Fuzzy edamame freshly crusted with ground salt. These little buggers had a nice crunch to them, though far less “meaty” than the frozen variety. Much better flavor as well.

The beginning of a peppery summer stretch. We had no idea about seasonality of vegetables. We’re learning — lots of peppers.

Did I mention peppers? This is a new one to us: Lilac Pepper. It has a slightly more…well, peppery flavor to it as opposed to the sweet peppers which are…well, sweet.
