The word “honey” evokes syrupy sweet amber goo slinking from a honeycomb. So nothing provokes me quite like the sight of honey crystallizing. There’s no fending off the inexorable contagion of alien crystals that curse the golden nectar into an opaque block. I glance at the honey in dismay, much the way I imagine Lot looked at his wife-turned-pillar-of-salt. But times are tough, and recently I decided to redeem my honey with a second chance at sweetening my life.
